Gustav Klimt & Wien, 1900 - Leopold Museum, Vienna

Visiting this exhibition was my highlight of our family holiday to Vienna, especially it as an afternoon on my own, and ended with a glass of bubbly and a piece of apfelstrudel in the cafe on the roof!

The exhibition looked at Klimt's life and work in Vienna at the turn of the century, and included not only his work, but that of his contemporaries. it also took in account the architecture, the city layout, transportation and interior design of the time.

Wonderful! And the museum quarter is a lovely place to wander round in. I felt intellectually stimulated by the end of the afternoon, but there again, that could have been the bubbly taking effect! It also ticks off another one of my @40 challenges - Attend 4 cultural events.
