The Intouchables is one of the best films I have seen in a long time. We watched it in the original french, with German subtitles whilst on holiday. It tells the story of the working relationship between two men - rich paraplegic, paralysed from neck down - and his (unlikely, reluctant) carer, who has been living on the dole.

Based on a true story it is funny, warm-hearted, charming and full of hope, human kindness and music - all without being sentimental.

Other dvds watched on holiday were
celda 211 - brutal prison drama, engaging storylines and character.
Girl with a dragon tattoo - sort of "enjoyed" it, but I couldn't sleep that night, too much violence and torture, but thought the central story line and characterisation was good
Bill Baileys Remarkable Guide to the orchestra - what's not to like? Great orchestra, music and Bailey's comedy and musical performance!

What was your favourite scene? I loved the opera scene - the man dressed like a tree - you could almost see the reaction coming!
