Room to breathe!

Today (for the first time in years) I walked from Felsenegg to the top of the Uetliberg. It was a beautiful day - warm, late September sun.

I took photos, did some thinking, enjoyed the absolute peace and quiet. Thought about all the friends and family that have walked this path with me. Thought about my life here in Zurich so far.

When we first came to Zurich, I had about 2.5 years at home without a job. I wrote up my masters thesis and got to know my new country, did a lot of walking and running. I walked up and down the Uetliberg a few times a week and I remember this time being so important in helping me to find a routine, helping me to deal with the isolation and uncertainty.

Today as I walked it felt as though I would meet a previous Helen coming round the corner!
