Autumn on the Uetliberg...

It’s hard to believe that it’s only a week since we went skating and I got a sun tan in the heat… Today it was misty and miserable, but undaunted I set off for a LONG walk to atone for my eating habits last night!

I walked up the Uetliberg as usual, and then along the ridge as far as Felsenegg, then down a very step path to Adliswil, finally walking back into Zurich via the “Sihluferweg” (Sihl river path). It took me about 3 and a half hours and my legs are now aching. The weather was miserable, but the mist and the grey gave the Uetliberg an unreal, unearthy feel. People snuck up on you in the gloom, or you’d hear a strange metallic, clanking noise and be confronted by energetic nordic walkers! From down in the valley I could hear each church ringing off each hour. And on the animal front, I spotted a black squirrel in the wood, and then a grey heron on the Sihl river.
