Word of the year, 2011: Letting go

The wonderful blogger Christine Zane suggests a resolution revolutioon - that instead of focussing on resolutions, we find a word for the year, an intention if you will. Through focussing on this intention, we naturally change our behaviour and try different things. The word guides us through the year.

This idea appeals to me. Each month I will blog about my word and reflect on the changes I made.

My word for 2011 is loslassen, which in english means to "let go", or "to let loose."

My natural inclination is to be perfect, try really hard, try to control my environment, try to please my boss, keep everyone happy. I wonder what will happen if I let go? If I focus on what is most important to my family and I? Can letting go be a positive action?

What impact will "letting go" have on my family, my health, my job and the time I have for my creative projects? Watch this space.

What will your word for 2011 be?
