Comfort food for the mind

One of my favourite bloggers, Gretchen Rubin, recently suggested that we need to find a comfort food for our minds. When we are stressed or feeling down, instead of reaching for the biscuits / cream cake / toast and jam / entire tube of pringles (in my case), we should self soothe ourselves with a non eating activity, which will nevertheless comfort us.

I think this is a great idea (not just because I am trying to eat less and lose weight) and I think I need a list of comfort activities that I can call on when I am feeling down. When you are feeling blue, then is not the time to start thinking about what might work. I think first on the list are: staying in bed, with laptop, a few blogs to read, a few blogs to write and a nice cup of tea is the first on the list. What about you? :-)
