Orange Cinema at the lake

Tonight my friend J and I went to the Orange cinema - the outdoor cinema runs for a month, showing films when the sun goes down - this means it's pretty late - 09.30 til 11.30 ish. Tickets sell out online immediately - and I am grateful that J is more organised than me and always manages to get tickets for a choice of films :-) We also went last year.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous today - hot and sunny event at 18.30. We got there early - ate, drank and gossiped.

And then watched the orange screen rise over the lake as the light dimmed. The film was almost an afterthought!

We say "Happy Go Lucky" by Mike Leigh - a film about a single woman living and working as a teacher in London. The film ambles along, there is no real clear narrative, but it was delightful anyway. I really liked the portrayal of long term female relationships - how we live and work together and understand one another. Fantastic.
