Week 25: The one with the view

We all live in such different cities - I'd love to hear about the views from different peoples windows. That can be a metaphor - a snapshot of your day, or a physical or spiritual (looking through a stained glass window?).

What I may think of as boring, you may find fascinating because we come from all over the world, and from different backgrounds...

I wrote last summer about the view from our apartment window. The kitchen and study both look out onto a green space in the courtyard. When I was working from home, my spot was to sit at the kitchen counter and look out the window. I know all the kids and families by sight and I think it's so important to have a green space. More here ... last year's entry

The photos below show the view from my desk at work in the Uetlihof. This is the bank building which is built on an old clay pit at the foot of the Uetliberg (the Zurich "house mountain"). I am SO lucky to have a window seat. I look out up the mountain (you can just see the viewing tower and the TV tower if you enlarge the photo on the right, then look in the top right hand corner.) The photo on the left is the view out of the next window along - you can see the electricity generator plant for the building! The third photo shows my desk in front of the windows. I get such an amazing view, it's a wonder I get any work done! What's lovely is that you can see the weather change. Today the sky went from blue to grey and cloudy at least three times. When I visited the office for my second interview (in March) you couldn't see the mountain becuase it was snowing so heavily!!
