Dear Mum.... hickory, dickory Dock

Dear Mum,

The boys and I have been clearing out their bedroom. I'm not sure when the Hickory Dickory Game was passed over to me, but it was probably when you moved out of the Anchorage.
We loved playing it, and on the instructions I can see your handwriting - 1976, so it was probably a present for me when I was 3!
I had forgotten how cute the dice was - it has a little mouse on it...

Now passing it onto Chris for Aren and Aiden :-)

Love you,
Helen

Dear Mum.... childhood music favourites

Dear Mum,

Growing up I remember that you had a record player in the corner of the living room and an ancient box of records, including "Zorba the greek" and at the time, the very trendy hits of ABBA.
One christmas we got the Walt Disney Christmas Favourites and this was always the soundtrack to Christmas.

When I was 7 or 8, we had my birthday in Scotland and Dad has just bought a  tape recorder. The Tommy Steele Family Album was the first ever tape we got.

Mum, I listened to both albums today and there was such a visceral flood of memories and feeling and grief.

Love you,

Helen
