Pre Nanowrimo thoughts vs Pre Marathon thoughts

I feel excited and terrified about my first ever Nanowrimo. I know that I have done my preparation, in so far as this was possible, but I still feel I could have done more. Do I really know enough about my characters? I haven't even finally fixed their main characteristics. I feel dread, because I don't know how hard it's going to be, or how much it's going to hurt. I keep reminding myself that I just have to "show up" each day and write my 2'000 words. I have to believe that I will find my writing groove and that my characters will a) behave and b) show me where they want to go and what they want to do.
And if I get stuck, I will remember the wisdom of a certain 4 year old - "What's going to happen?"

Autumn Fun in Zürich

I love autumn! It's easier this year that both boys are walking and more mobile - much easier to take trips to the park (Park im Grüne with Alison and family) or go up the Uetliberg (with Andrea & family) or to walk in the woods hunting the Gruffalo! I think the pictures speak for themselves :-)

Summer 2013

Well, I think it's true to say that summer is truly over - in fact, autumn is nearly over in Zürich - Markus keeps asking when the snow will come.

This summer was strange. We didn't have a summer holiday, but went away for a long weekend to Germany, and through July, August, September had 3 lots of visitors, two birthday parties, and lots of weekend outings out and about in Zürich with friends. However, a lot of the time, this was without mr.ncot, as he had a huge MBA workload over the summer and changed jobs.

But hey, we survived, had a nice time none-the-less and have the happy photos to prove it!
And here's the link to last year's summer mosaic...
